Abstract

Anomalous origin of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) from the right sinus of Valsalva is an extremely rare congenital anomaly. The clinical presentation of congenital anomalous origins of coronary arteries is highly variable from asymptomatic to sudden death, even in the absence of significant atherosclerotic stenosis. Many patients with anomalous LMCA arising from the right coronary sinus die before the age of 20 years and usually during or shortly after vigorous exertion.Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of anomalous coronaries is technically difficult and challenging. Here we describe PCI of a patient to left anterior descending artery in whom LMCA had anomalous origin that course between the aorta and the pulmonary artery.
